Caulfield Hospital recently took delivery of 35 carts to upgrade their meal delivery service.
Caulfield Hospital’s layout with long distances between wards, a mixture of hallways, ramps, concrete and bitumen road surfaces had a devastating effect on the trolleys under carriage.
The management at Caulfield Hospital through consultation with kitchen, food delivery and OH&S staff produced a set of parameters the solution needed to fit into:
Warehousing Equipment attended site and measured all relevant areas to ensure the specification was understood. The result was two trailers, each carrying two of the 250kg food carts, towed in line behind Taylor-Dunn tow tugs.
The food carts are hydraulically lifted with automatic securing of the load in the up position.
The trailers track behind the Taylor-Dunn tow tug using Warehousing Equipment’s overhead tracking rod design to king pin style steering on both ends of the trailer. Carts are hydraulically lifted with automatic securing of the load in the up position. The trailers are the same width as the food carts.
The trailers have been successfully commissioned at Caulfield Hospital
